Richard was born November 18, 1957 in Freeport, Texas and grew up in Angleton. He graduated from Angleton High School in 1976. Richard married Nancy Matheson in 1977 and graduated from the Police Academy at Brazosport College in 1978. He served as a Reserve Police Officer for Angleton PD, while working full time for Dow Chemical. Richard enjoyed a 20+ year career with Dow, the last 12 years managing the warehouse operations for Dow Magnesium. Richard retired from Dow in 1997 to join the family business, Palms Funeral Home, and attended Commonwealth College where he graduated with honors, obtaining his Funeral Directors License. As co-owner of Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, Richard has had the privilege of helping many friends and neighbors in the loss of loved ones, and as a business owner realizes the challenges of operating a small business. Richard is a member of the Greater Angleton Chamber of Commerce, the Alvin-Manvel Chamber of Commerce, the Danbury Rotary Club and is President of the Brazoria County Emergency Service District # 3. Richard & Nancy have two daughters, Stacy Davis White who is married to Mike and is an English teacher at Danbury High School. Stacy and Mike have two beautiful children Zachary & Zoe & make their home in Angleton Lindsey Davis Smith is married to Jeff and is a teacher at Angleton High School, they live in Danbury. Richard & Nancy have lived in Danbury for 25 years and enjoy camping and spending time with their Grandkids.
